Northeast Philadelphia is comprised of the old townships of Oxford, Lower Dublin, Moreland, and Byberry, all eliminated in the 1854 City Consolidation. Tacony-Frankford Creek forms the southwest and west border with the Northern Liberties and Olney sections of Philadelphia. Poquessing Creek is the northeast and east border between Philadelphia and Bucks Counties. Montgomery County is on the northwest. The Delaware River is the southeast boundary.
The Northeast Philadelphia History Network is a group of organizations and individuals whose purpose is to examine, preserve, and promote the history of the region by reaching out to neighborhoods and communities and to disseminate that history, especially via this NEPHN web site.
NEPHN meets monthly, usually every 1st Wednesday at 7 PM at historic Pennepack Baptist Church, 8732 Krewstown Rd, 19115. Occasionally meetings are held at other historic sites. There is no strict member ship. All are welcome.
